Cayman Islands men’s national football team has never qualified for a FIFA World Cup or CONCACAF Gold Cup. However, they have reached notable levels in regional competition:

Highest Competitive Levels

1. Caribbean Cup Semifinals (1995)

  • Cayman co-hosted the 1995 Caribbean Cup alongside Jamaica.
  • Advanced to the semifinals, ultimately finishing fourth after a 0–3 loss to Cuba in the third-place playoff
  • This remains their best performance in senior regional competition.

2. CFU/CONCACAF U‑17 & U‑20 Tournaments

  • 2009: Cayman’s U‑17 women’s team reached the final stage of the CONCACAF U‑17 Women’s Championships, the first Cayman team to do so
  • Participation in U‑20 men’s Caribbean qualifiers (e.g., 2018 CONCACAF U‑20 Championship) but without advancing beyond group stages .

3. CONCACAF Nations League – League C (2019–20)

  • In the 2020 Nations League, Cayman posted a positive 4-win performance in League C under coach Ben Pugh, showcasing strong competitive development
  • While still in the third tier, this remains a significant advancement in international competition.

World Cup Qualifiers

  • Participated since 1998 but never advanced past the first round.
  • Notable for a draw in 2008 (against Bermuda) but continued early exits in 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2018 qualifiers
