Here are some of the most famous sportspeople from Martinique, spanning various disciplines like football, athletics, and martial arts. Though Martinique is a French overseas region, many athletes of Martinican descent represent France on the international stage.


⚽️ Football (Soccer)

Thierry Henry One of the greatest French footballers of all time. Though born in mainland France, he is of Martinican descent (mother). Won the 1998 FIFA World Cup, 2000 UEFA Euro, and had a legendary career at Arsenal FC.
Frédéric PiquionnePlayed for the French national team and clubs like Lyon, Portsmouth, and West Ham. Represented Martinique in CONCACAF Gold Cup tournaments.
Gaël ClichyFrench international and Premier League star with Arsenal and Manchester City; also of Martinican origin.
