Airports in the Cayman Islands

The Cayman Islands has three main airports, one on each of its islands. These airports connect the islands to international destinations (especially the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean) as well as domestic inter-island flights.


1. Owen Roberts International Airport (GCM) – Grand Cayman

  • Location: George Town, Grand Cayman
  • Main Airport of the Cayman Islands
  • IATA Code: GCM
  • Facilities:
    • Recently renovated terminal (modernized in 2019)
    • Duty-free shops, restaurants, car rentals
    • Customs, immigration, and cargo services
  • International Flights to:
    • United States (Miami, New York, Charlotte, Dallas, Tampa)
    • Canada (Toronto)
    • United Kingdom (London via British Airways)
    • Jamaica, Honduras, Bahamas
  • Airlines: Cayman Airways, American Airlines, Delta, United, JetBlue, British Airways, Air Canada

2. Charles Kirkconnell International Airport (CYB) – Cayman Brac

  • Location: West End, Cayman Brac
  • IATA Code: CYB
  • Type: Regional international airport
  • Serves:
    • Flights to/from Grand Cayman
    • Some international charter flights from the U.S.
  • Airlines: Cayman Airways operates regular flights.

3. Edward Bodden Airfield (LYB) – Little Cayman

  • Location: Southwest coast of Little Cayman
  • IATA Code: LYB
  • Type: Small airstrip (domestic only)
  • Flights: Only short inter-island flights from Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac
  • Airline: Cayman Airways Express (small twin-prop planes)

Inter-Island Flights

  • Operated by Cayman Airways Express
  • Frequent flights between:
    • Grand Cayman ↔ Cayman Brac
    • Grand Cayman ↔ Little Cayman
    • Cayman Brac ↔ Little Cayman

Customs & Entry Notes

  • International travelers arrive through Owen Roberts (GCM).
  • Visitors must have:
    • Valid passport
    • Return/onward ticket
    • Proof of accommodation (depending on nationality)
