Senator Monday Okpebholo, Governor of Edo State, exemplifies visionary leadership grounded in discipline, integrity, and compassion. A native of Esan Central Local Government Area, he began his educational journey at Udomi Primary School and Ujiabhole Secondary School in Uwessan Irrua. He later completed his secondary education in Jos and earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Business Administration and Policy & Leadership Studies from the University of Abuja.

Governor Okpebholo’s leadership style is thoughtful and deliberate. Known for his calm but firm disposition, he governs with fairness and decisiveness. He is unapologetically aligned with the underprivileged and stands strongly against the misuse of power and public trust. His administration is marked by a clear moral compass and a refusal to shield wrongdoers, regardless of status.

Politically, he has reinvigorated public confidence through swift actions in security, including the deployment of tactical teams and rescue operations in troubled zones. His administration also equipped security agencies with new vehicles and motorcycles, enhancing rapid response capacity.

Economically, Governor Okpebholo has revived critical sectors—launching 100 new buses under the Edo Transport Service and initiating expansive road rehabilitation projects across urban and rural communities. His investment in waste management infrastructure has also significantly improved sanitation standards.

On social issues, he has prioritized healthcare by completing key primary health centers, introducing free malaria treatment, and onboarding vulnerable citizens into the state health insurance scheme. Education has equally received a boost, with the increase of monthly subvention to Ambrose Alli University from N41 million to N500 million.

Senator Okpebholo stands today not just as a governor, but as a people-focused leader whose humility, foresight, and sense of justice are driving Edo State toward a more secure and equitable future.
