Dipeolu Segun Daniel, popularly known as Waveboy, is an electrifying force in the world of Afrobeats. Born and raised in Ogun state, Nigeria, his musical journey began in the sacred corridors of the church, where he not only sang in the choir but also spearheaded a band. In 2018, he transitioned to the spotlight, establishing himself as a solo artist and showcasing his formidable talent.

Waveboy’s notable EP, ‘SURF UP’, skyrocketed to the top of the Afrobeats album charts on Audiomack, holding its No.1 position for an impressive 48 hours. With a string of successful singles and collaborations under his belt, Waveboy’s versatility stands out. While he effortlessly rides the waves of various genres, he remains deeply rooted in Afrobeats, ensuring its presence is felt in every track. Yet, his explorative nature keeps him dabbling in other sounds, proving his adaptability.

Drawing inspiration from legends like Michael Jackson, Wizkid, Drake, Burna Boy, Sade, B Young, King Sunny Ade, and Ayefele, Waveboy’s music is an intriguing blend of pop, RnB, and soul. He has a unique way of connecting with listeners—both locally and internationally—by occasionally integrating his native dialect into his songs, creating a sound that is unmistakably Afrobeats. Waveboy isn’t just an artist; he’s a bridge between cultures, genres, and generations.
