Serena Williams has actively contributed to educational development in Jamaica.

In February 2016, through her nonprofit organization, the Serena Williams Fund, she partnered with Helping Hands Jamaica and Food for the Poor to construct the Salt Marsh Infant School in Trelawny Parish. Serena personally participated in the building process, working alongside volunteers and notable figures such as Grammy Award-winning artists Shaggy and Sean Paul, Olympic sprinters Yohan Blake and Warren Weir, and MLS MVP Dwayne De Rosario.

This initiative was part of Serena’s broader commitment to promoting equity through education. Beyond Jamaica, the Serena Williams Fund has also supported the construction of schools in countries like Kenya, Uganda, and Zimbabwe, aiming to provide quality education to underprivileged communities.

Serena’s hands-on involvement in these projects underscores her dedication to creating positive change beyond her athletic achievements
