The African and Caribbean regions have produced numerous models who have significantly influenced the global fashion industry. Here are some of the most highly profiled models from these regions:

African Models:

Malick Bodian
Born in Senegal and raised in Italy, Malick Bodian has made a remarkable impact in the fashion world. In 2023, he graced the runways and campaigns of esteemed fashion houses such as Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, Dior Men, and Bottega Veneta.

Ugbad Abdi
A Somali-American model, Ugbad Abdi debuted on the runway for Valentino Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2019. She has since walked for prominent brands including Burberry, Victoria Beckham, and Marc Jacobs, where she notably opened the Autumn/Winter 2019 show.

Nyagua Ruea
Hailing from South Sudan and based in London, Nyagua Ruea has featured in shows for AMI Paris and Ashi Studios. In February 2023, she appeared in Harper’s Bazaar US Editorial and participated in the Vogue World fashion show.

Achok
Originally from Africa and residing in Canberra, Achok made her international debut by walking exclusively for Gucci during the Spring/Summer 2025 Milan Fashion Week. She has also been featured on Gucci’s beauty Instagram account.

Brooke Bruk-Jackson
A 21-year-old Zimbabwean model, Brooke Bruk-Jackson was crowned Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2023, marking the country’s return to the Miss Universe competition after a 22-year hiatus.

Winnie Harlow

Grace Jones
