Marriage in Honduras can be civil, religious, or both, and traditions often blend modern law with cultural customs.
1. Legal Marriage Requirements (Civil Marriage)
- Minimum age: 18 years old for both men and women
- Persons aged 16–17 may marry with parental consent
- Both partners must present:
- Birth certificates
- National ID or passport
- Proof of being single (or divorce/death certificate if previously married)
- Marriage must be registered with the Civil Registry
