Brigadier General Amanda Azubuike, of Nigerian descent, made history as the first Nigerian female to attain the rank of Brigadier General in the United States Army. She was promoted in a ceremony at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

Born in the UK to Nigerian parents, Azubuike joined the U.S. Army in 1994 as an aviation officer. Over the years, she has built a distinguished military career, serving in various leadership and strategic roles. Her expertise spans aviation, public affairs, and strategic communications, with service in multiple assignments, including the U.S. Army Futures Command and the Pentagon.

Her promotion is a significant milestone, serving as an inspiration to many, especially women of African descent pursuing military careers.
