Everything You Need to Know About Honduras’ National Beauty Pageants

Miss Honduras Universe (Señorita Honduras / Miss Honduras Organización)

  • Overview: Established in 1930, this long-standing national pageant selects Honduras’s representative for the Miss Universe competition
  • Recent Winners:
    • 2023: Zuheilyn Clemente from Tegucigalpa was crowned Miss Universe Honduras
    • 2024: Stephanie Cam won the title, marking history as the first mother and the oldest woman to be crowned. She later represented Honduras at Miss Universe and even won the Best Skin award
    • 2025: Alejandra Fuentes Sierra, a 31-year-old from Olancho with a Master’s in Corporate Communication, is the newest titleholder. She will represent Honduras at Miss Universe 2025, scheduled for November in Thailand

Miss Grand Honduras

  • Background: A newer addition, this pageant was founded in 2022 and designates Honduras’s representative for Miss Grand International
  • Recent Titleholders:
    • 2022: Saira Cacho Álvarez from Colón Department was crowned and later made the Top 20 at Miss Grand International—the first Honduran to do so .
    • 2024: Cecilia García of Francisco Morazán originally won but resigned due to safety concerns in the host country. Yariela García was chosen as her replacement

Notable Pageant Tragedy

  • In a tragic event from 2014, María José Alvarado, Miss Honduras World, and her sister Sofia were found murdered just before María was to compete in Miss World. The case garnered international attention due to its severity and timing
