Major Airports

Owen Roberts International Airport (GCM) – Grand Cayman

Overview: Main international gateway for Grand Cayman, handling ~1.1 million passengers annually and ~25,000 aircraft movements .

Facilities:

Single asphalt runway (08/26), 2,398 m length .

Terminal includes restaurants (Hungry Horse, Runaway Bar with full bar), ATMs, free Wi‑Fi, duty-free shops, and fast-food outlets like Burger King and Subway .

General Aviation Terminal hosts Island Air FBO services and Cayman Islands National Weather Service .

Airlines & Destinations: Serves as Cayman Airways hub; also connects with American, British Airways, JetBlue, Southwest, United, Delta, WestJet, Air Canada .

Passenger Experience: Rated 3-Star by Skytrax—clean, modern, good shopping/dining, but may have peak‑time security/duty queues . Reddit travelers say it’s comparable to a mid‑sized U.S. regional airport, very walkable, with minimal hassles .


Charles Kirkconnell International Airport (CYB) – Cayman Brac

Overview: One runway of 1,848 m serving Cayman Brac; handles ~60,000 passengers/year .

Airlines: Mainly Cayman Airways and Cayman Airways Express with flights to Grand Cayman (737‑8 and Twin Otter), and seasonal nonstop service to Miami and Denver .

Operations: Open daily 7 am–7 pm; small but sufficient for island’s traffic .


Edward Bodden Airfield (LYB) – Little Cayman

Overview: Light-airport with a 935 m runway; services via Cayman Airways Express Twin Otter .

Future Plans: Proposal under public consultation to relocate and build a new 4,000‑ft runway and terminal by 2028 to comply with ICAO standards .


Ground Transport & Amenities

Proximity:

GCM airport is ~5 min from George Town and main tourist/financial areas .

Easy walk to rental car counters; taxis, shuttles, and car rentals readily available .

Facilities: Abundant F&B options in all airports; duty-free shopping and lounge seating at GCM Future Developments
