President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday inaugurated key infrastructure projects in Lagos, underscoring his administration’s commitment to people-centred development and sustainable urban growth.Represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Tinubu described the projects as symbols of purposeful governance, stressing that development must be visible, impactful, and beneficial to citizens.“These projects are not just physical structures; they reflect a government that understands that development must be seen, felt, and experienced by the people,” he said.

The commissioned projects include the Ojota–Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information Service (LAGIS) Building, and a multi-agency administrative complex in Alausa, named the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administrative Complex.Tinubu said Lagos continues to distinguish itself as a model for national progress through sustained investments in infrastructure, innovation, and institutional reforms.

Lagos is working, Lagos is moving forward, Lagos is setting examples, and Nigeria needs to emulate Lagos,” he added, noting that the projects align with the Federal Government’s drive for a modern, efficient, and digitally enabled economy.

He emphasised the importance of strategic infrastructure in a megacity like Lagos, noting that improved mobility directly boosts productivity and economic growth. The 5.04-kilometre Ojota–Opebi Link Bridge is designed to ease congestion along the Ikeja–Maryland–Ojota corridor by providing an alternative route linking Opebi/Allen to Ikorodu Road. It features pedestrian walkways, bicycle lanes, solar-powered lighting, and modern drainage systems.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, said the projects reflect his administration’s resolve to tackle critical challenges through practical and sustainable solutions. He noted that the LAGIS building represents a major step toward digitised land administration by eliminating manual processes, reducing bureaucratic bottlenecks, and strengthening property rights.Sanwo-Olu added that the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administrative Complex was designed to enhance inter-agency coordination and improve service delivery by housing multiple government agencies in a single integrated facility.

The governor said naming the complex after the President recognises his enduring contributions to Lagos’ institutional development and transformation.“At its most effective, governance is about building institutions, systems, and opportunities for people to thrive,” he said. With just over a year left in office, Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering tangible outcomes under the THEMES+ agenda

The true measure of governance is not in plans but in results,” he said. The inauguration formed part of activities marking the President’s two-day visit to Lagos, during which more projects are expected to be unveiled.Dignitaries at the event included the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa; Senators Wasiu Sanni Eshinlokun, Tokunbo Abiru, and Godswill Akpabio; Governors Hope Uzodinma, Dapo Abiodun, and Douye Diri, among other top government officials
