Five volunteers from Nigeria’s Technical Aid Corps (NTAC) are preparing to serve within the Ministry of Education of Saint Kitts and Nevis, as the island nation intensifies efforts to enhance teaching in mathematics, fundamental sciences, and related disciplines.The St Kitts and Nevis government, via press release, shared that the Nigerian volunteers were officially greeted by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Honourable Dr. Geoffrey Hanley, during a formal event held at the Joseph N. France General Hospital on Monday, December 29, 2025.Reportedly, these five professionals are part of a broader group, with an additional twelve individuals volunteering mainly in the healthcare sector, all for a period of two years.

Commenting on the initiative, Dr. Hanley highlighted, “This initiative reflects the enduring friendship and cooperation between our two nations, and it underscores the shared commitment of advancing education and health for the benefit of our people.”He also mentioned ongoing discussions with Nigeria’s Ministry of Education regarding further assistance in areas such as autism, disabilities, and potential scholarship opportunities.Expressing gratitude, Deputy Prime Minister Hanley acknowledged the leadership of Prime Minister Honourable Dr. Terrance Drew and the support provided by Senior Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister, the Right Honourable Dr. Denzil Douglas, in fostering this cooperative relationship between Saint Kitts and Nevis and Nigeria.Both the prime minister and the senior minister participated in the event.
