  • Capital: Nassau

  • Currency: Bahamian Dollar (BSD), pegged 1:1 to the US Dollar
  • Population: Approximately 400,000 (as of 2023)
  • Area: 13,878 square kilometers (5,358 square miles)
  • Location: Situated in the Atlantic Ocean, southeast of Florida (USA) and north of Cuba.

Geography:

  • An archipelago of 700 islands and over 2,400 cays, though only about 30 islands are inhabited.
  • Nassau, located on the island of New Providence, is the largest city and the country’s political, economic, and cultural hub.

History:
