DON’T BE PLAYED BY TECHNOLOGY.

On a lighter note today, let us take a look at something that is very important. I’ll start by sharing a recent experience.

I had to accompany my son to the industrial training fund office to complete his registration for his IT.

While waiting for him to return from submitting his form I noticed that the airport he had been wearing was on the table, at the reception. And I knew he would likely forget it and I made up my mind to teach him a lesson.

So I took it and kept it in my jeans pocket.

And as expected he didn’t remember the airpod at all so it was a good thing I had picked up.

For some hours I waited for him to start looking for his airpod. Eventually I saw him looking around, searching and ransacking everywhere. Then he approached to ask me if I’d seen he’s airpod. I in turn inquired when he last saw it. He told me that he had been wearing it in the house. I asked if he was sure and he said yeah.

Of course I knew he had not been with it in the house. I wanted to give him a little more time so he could learn the lesson of not being careless with his items; when suddenly a ringing sound could be heard coming from me.

I snuck my hand into my pocket thinking I could switch it off but “no”. He came close to me and was like, “mummy, it’s ringing on you”.
I was shocked. I had no idea he could do that.

I reluctantly handed it over. But I’d learned something new.

Apparently technology has so advanced now that you can call your ear pod. Imagine my shock and disappointment at failing to torture him a little.

And I realized one must evolve with the times. No one can afford to remain on the way or ignorant of technological development. It could mean the difference between success and failure or life and death.

No one is saying all of us have to become tech gurus however we must become tech aware. We must be of what is available for us to use to access to benefit from. Imagine if someone at this time does not understand how you use a regular cell phone. Their lives will be miserable indeed, because communication would be very poor and their quality of life as well.

There are no excuses for not availing oneself of tech knowledge and the upgrades that they can bring.

See how easily he was able to rescue his airpod. Imagine how distressed he would have been if he didn’t find them, if it weren’t easy for him to find them: though I was the initial rescuer.

So to improve your quality of life kindly expose yourself to more tech resources.

Making inquiries or doing research is so easy now with all the amazing search engines that we have like, Google.

You could also have some fun time out simply asking the tech savvy “oh what’s new?”.

If I’d known he could call the airport I would have gallantly hid it somewhere.

Don’t be left behind.
