The 2025 AFCON Round of 16 stage is set to begin this weekend in various stadiums across Morocco.Notably, eight nations, including Gabon, Botswana, and Angola, have already exited the tournament

But El Haddaoui has now identified Morocco, Nigeria, Algeria, Cameroon, Senegal, and Egypt as the teams that have made an impression thus far. When asked about the standout teams, the ex-OGC Nice midfielder stated on CAF’s official website: “Morocco, Algeria, Cameroon, Egypt, Senegal, and Nigeria have all made strong starts. Each of these teams has something important to contribute to this competition, which will make the upcoming Round of 16 exciting and intense.

After this level of organization, we will be prepared to host the 2030 World Cup in Africa, where we hope all teams will excel.”
