Michelle Chinwendu Alozie is a professional footballer known for her versatility as both a forward and defender. Born on April 28, 1997, she holds dual nationality with the United States and Nigeria. Alozie currently plays for the Houston Dash in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) and represents the Nigeria women’s national team.

Early Life and Education:

Alozie pursued her undergraduate studies at Yale University, graduating in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. During her time at Yale, she was an active member of the women’s soccer team, making significant contributions on the field.

Collegiate Soccer Career:

  • Yale University (2015–2018): Alozie had a notable tenure with the Yale Bulldogs, earning honors such as Honorable Mention All-Ivy and Second Team All-New England. She tied for the team lead with six goals and 16 points during her freshman year.
  • University of Tennessee (2019): After graduating from Yale, Alozie transferred to the University of Tennessee for her final year of NCAA eligibility, further showcasing her soccer talents.

Professional Career:

In 2021, Alozie signed with the Houston Dash in the NWSL. She made 11 appearances during the 2022 season, scoring a last-minute equalizer in a 2-2 draw against Washington on August 27.

International Career:

Eligible to represent Nigeria through her heritage, Alozie chose to play for the Nigeria women’s national team. She has been a valuable asset to the team, participating in international competitions and contributing to their successes.

Personal Life:

Beyond her soccer career, Alozie has expressed aspirations to become a cardiologist, reflecting her strong academic background and commitment to making a difference both on and off the field.
