1. Schucry Kafie & the Kafie Family

  • Schucry Kafie founded Lacthosa, the country’s leading dairy company, and co-founded Lufussa, the largest private electricity provider in Honduras.
  • His brothers, Luis and Eduardo Kafie, also play significant roles in the family business empire.

2. Miguel Facussé Barjum (deceased)

  • The late tycoon founded Corporación Dinant, a major producer of consumer goods including palm oil, detergents, and biofuels.
  • He was considered one of the most powerful—and controversial—figures in recent Honduran history.

3. Fredy Nasser

  • A prominent businessman and heir by marriage—Facussé’s son-in-law. He leads the Terra Group, which includes energy firm Hondupetrol and airport operator Interairports

4. The Rosenthal Family

  • Heads Grupo Continental, a sprawling conglomerate encompassing banking, insurance, media (e.g., El Tiempo, Canal 11), agriculture, and construction.

5. Mohammad Yusuf Amdani & Grupo Karims

  • President of Grupo Karims, which spans textiles, real estate, hotels, and manufacturing.
  • He is among Central America’s wealthiest and one of the richest in Honduras, with net worth estimates ranging up to $2.8 billion.

6. Camilo Atala

  • A banking magnate who leads Banco Financiera Comercial Hondureña (Ficohsa). Forbes cites his estimated net worth at around $3 billion.
