Airports in Guadeloupe

Guadeloupe has one main international airport and several smaller airstrips serving domestic or inter-island travel. The primary airport is modern, well-equipped, and acts as a hub for travel between Europe, North America, and the Caribbean.


1. Main International Airport

Pointe-à-Pitre Le Raizet International Airport (PTP)

  • Full Name: Aéroport Guadeloupe Pôle Caraïbes
  • IATA Code: PTP
  • Location: Abymes, near Pointe-à-Pitre, Grande-Terre Island
  • Function: Primary airport for Guadeloupe and one of the busiest in the Eastern Caribbean.
Services:
  • International Flights to/from:
    • France (Paris-Orly, Paris-Charles de Gaulle)
    • Canada (Montreal)
    • United States (Miami, New York seasonally)
    • Other Caribbean Islands (Martinique, Saint Martin, Dominica, Haiti, etc.)
  • Airlines Operating:
    • Air France
    • Corsair
    • Air Caraïbes
    • Air Antilles
    • Air Canada
    • American Airlines (seasonal)
    • LIAT and Caribbean Airlines (regional)
Facilities:
  • Two terminals: one for international and one for regional flights.
  • Car rental, duty-free shopping, restaurants, and VIP lounges.
  • Accessible by public transport, taxi, or private car.

2. Smaller Airports & Airstrips

Les Saintes Airport (Terre-de-Haut)

  • Small regional airstrip.
  • Mainly for light aircraft and chartered inter-island flights.

Marie-Galante Airport

  • Located on the island of Marie-Galante.
  • Services small domestic flights from Pointe-à-Pitre.

La Désirade Airstrip

  • Short runway for occasional charter or emergency flights.

3. Heliports

  • Helicopters are sometimes used for emergency evacuations, medical flights, and VIP transport.
  • Heliports located at hospitals or near the coast guard bases.
