Morgan Price is an American artistic gymnast who has made history as a trailblazer in collegiate gymnastics, particularly within Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
Historic Achievements at Fisk University
In 2023, Price became the first gymnast from an HBCU to win a national collegiate gymnastics championship, securing the all-around title at the USA Gymnastics Women’s Collegiate National Championships. She continued her dominance in 2025 by repeating as the all-around champion at the Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Championship (WCGNIC), where she also won individual titles in vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise.
Notably, Price made history by earning a perfect 10.0 on the uneven bars, marking the first time an HBCU gymnast achieved this feat.
Early Life and Decision to Join Fisk University
Born on June 28, 2005, in Lebanon, Tennessee, Price began gymnastics at age two. She trained at Texas Dreams Gymnastics in Coppell, Texas, and was a five-star recruit. Initially committed to the University of Arkansas, she chose to attend Fisk University to be part of the first HBCU gymnastics team, aiming to inspire younger Black girls in the sport.
Departure from Fisk University
In May 2025, Fisk University announced that Price would be transferring to another program. The university acknowledged her significant contributions to elevating the visibility of Fisk gymnastics and shaping the narrative around the first intercollegiate program of its kind at an HBCU.
