Africa is home to some of the world’s longest and most significant rivers, which support millions of people, wildlife, and agriculture. Here are the top African countries with the longest rivers:


Egypt & Sudan – Nile River (6,650 km / 4,130 mi)

  • The longest river in Africa & the world.
  • Flows through 11 countries, including Uganda, Ethiopia, and South Sudan.
  • Provides water to over 300 million people.

Democratic Republic of Congo – Congo River (4,700 km / 2,922 mi)
