Pubiy In June 2023, 7 men at MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution in Connecticut made history as the first graduates of a joint program between Yale and the University of New Haven that brings college education inside prison walls.
The degrees are formally awarded by the University of New Haven, with Yale providing the credit-bearing coursework.
The program launched in 2018 and has since expanded to offer bachelor’s degrees. By May 2024, it had held the first-ever bachelor’s degree ceremony inside a Connecticut
