ASR Africa, the development initiative founded by Nigerian billionaire industrialist Abdul Samad Rabiu, has completed and commissioned a 60-bed hospital for the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) under its Security Sector Support Programme (SSSP).

The project was executed under ASR Africa’s Security Sector Support Programme.It will provide healthcare services for officers, their families, and surrounding communities in Northern Nigeria.The initiative underscores the private sector’s growing role in strengthening Nigeria’s security and healthcare infrastructure.

“A modern Customs Service requires not only operational reforms but also strong social infrastructure that supports those who serve,” Adeniyi said.The project, delivered through ASR Africa’s Security Sector Support Programme, is part of a wider effort to strengthen institutional capacity and improve living standards across Nigeria’s security agencies. The initiative targets projects that directly enhance welfare, training, and service delivery in the nation’s defense and law enforcement institutions.ASR Africa’s Managing Director/CEO, Ubon Udoh, said the hospital underscores the organisation’s model of impact-driven philanthropy.
This collaboration with the Nigeria Customs Service shows what’s possible when private-sector commitment aligns with institutional reform and clear developmental goals,” Udoh noted.The facility features seven clinical departments, including Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Surgery, Internal Medicine, and Pharmacy, as well as Dental, Radiology, and Nutrition units. It is expected to serve up to 300 patients monthly, with future upgrades planned for advanced diagnostics and surgical care.Established in 2021, ASR Africa (Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative) is a $100 million annual fund dedicated to advancing health, education, and social development in Nigeria and across Africa.Through programmes like the SSSP, ASR Africa supports national stability by funding healthcare and infrastructure projects within the security sector, alongside major education and social investments across the continent.Rabiu, who is also the founder and Executive Chairman of BUA Group, has positioned ASR Africa as a key private-sector driver of sustainable development and institutional strengthening in Africa.
