Bosun Tijani, minister of communications, innovation and digital economy, says the federal government has extended the application deadline for the National Digital Economy Research Clusters programme under Project BRIDGE.On March 29, Tijani said the federal government has opened an expression of interest (EOI) for a N12 billion National Digital Economy Research Clusters programme aimed at driving evidence-based policymaking and supporting Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda.

The minister had said the research clusters will ensure that investments in digital infrastructure are guided by “thoughtful, evidence-based approaches” that deliver broad societal benefits.

Providing updates in a post on X on Friday, Tijani said the new deadline for submission of expressions of interest is April 27 — from an initial date of April 13.

“Due to the strong interest from institutions across the country, we are extending the application deadline for the National Digital Economy Research Clusters under Project BRIDGE,” he wrote.“The new deadline for submission of Expressions of Interest is now Monday, 27th April 2026.”

The minister urged vice-chancellors, research leaders, and academic institutions to take advantage of the extension to review the terms of reference and submit their proposals.Advertisement“We strongly encourage Vice-Chancellors, research leaders, and academic institutions to take advantage of this extended window to review the Terms of Reference and submit their proposals,” he said.
