​Everlene Davis, a 93-year-old educator from Tabor City, North Carolina, has dedicated nearly 70 years to teaching and continues to inspire generations of students. ​

Career Highlights:

  • Early Career: Began teaching in 1956 at Douglass High School during the era of segregation.​
  • Integration Era: Transitioned to Tabor City High School following school integration.​
  • Current Role: Teaches Family and Consumer Sciences at South Columbus High School.​

Davis emphasizes hard work and dedication, setting high standards for her students. She values the impact of her teachings on students’ future successes, stating, “I am so happy to know that I taught something in my class… that has contributed to the success of your job.” ​
