Emark Innovation Hub Empowers Zambia’s Next Generation of Innovators

The Minister of Technology and Science, Hon. Felix C. Mutati, MP, visited the Emark Innovation Hub in Lusaka, where young Zambian innovators showcased their advancements in robotics and artificial intelligence (AI). The event highlighted the growing role of youth-led innovation in addressing national challenges such as food security and advancing Zambia’s digital transformation.

The group of ten innovators will represent Zambia at the Global Robotics for Good Youth Challenge in Geneva, Switzerland, positioning the country on the global stage as an emerging hub for digital talent and creativity.The initiative reflects the New Dawn Government’s commitment to empowering youth with relevant digital skills and opportunities to participate actively in the digital economy. It aligns with the national vision to build a resilient and technology-driven society by transforming innovation from aspiration into action.The event underscored the importance of collaboration between government and the private sector. The Zambia Business Angels Network (ZBAN) pledged support to provide equipment and mentorship, while the Emark Innovation Hub emphasized the need for additional resources to enhance project sustainability and performance.The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the innovation ecosystem by ensuring that young innovators have access to the necessary digital tools, training, and infrastructure to advance their work.This initiative marks an important milestone in Zambia’s journey toward a digitally empowered future, showcasing the country’s next generation of innovators as key drivers of progress and technological growth.
