Full Name: Dwayne Michael Carter Jr.

Early Life:

Lil Wayne grew up in the Hollygrove neighborhood of New Orleans. His parents, Dwayne Michael Carter Sr. and Jacida Carter, separated when he was young. His mother, a cook, raised him as a single parent. His biological father was absent from his life, and he considers his late stepfather, Reginald “Rabbit” McDonald, to be his true father.

Lil Wayne was a child prodigy, writing rap lyrics by the age of 8. He joined Cash Money Records at 11 after impressing rapper Birdman, who became his mentor and father figure.

  • Breakthrough Album: Tha Carter (2004).

Lil Wayne has four children from different relationships:

  1. Reginae Carter (born 1998) – Mother: Toya Johnson (Wayne’s high school sweetheart).
  2. Dwayne Carter III (born 2008) – Mother: Sarah Vivan.
  3. Cameron Carter (born 2009) – Mother: Lauren London (actress).
  4. Neal Carter (born 2009) – Mother: Nivea (singer).

Health Issues:

Lil Wayne has suffered from epilepsy and seizures throughout his life, which have caused multiple health scares.

Legal & Business Ventures:

  • Served 8 months in prison in 2010 for gun possession.
  • Owns Young Money Entertainment, a major record label.
