Mr. Stephen Emmanuel, a distinguished alumnus of the University of Ilorin, has been ranked among the world’s top 2% most influential scientists in the latest global ranking by Stanford University and Elsevier.In response to the recognition, Mr. Emmanuel expressed deep appreciation to God, his wife (Ademidun Emmanuel), parents, friends, family, mentors, NELIREF and the University of Ilorin for providing a strong academic foundation that shaped his scientific journey.

This global recognition serves as motivation to continue contributing to science for sustainable development,” he said.Following the announcement, Mr. Emmanuel received a flood of congratulatory messages and calls from notable figures, including the immediate past Dean of the Faculty of Physical Sciences, University of Ilorin, Professor Abdullahi Alafara Baba; the Pioneer Editor-in-Chief of the U6+ Journal and former HOD of Industrial Chemistry, University of Ilorin, Professor Hussein Kehinde Okoro; and the HOD of Mechanical Engineering, Nile University of Nigeria, Dr. Adekunle Adeleke. Mr.

Emmanuel earned both his BSC., and MSC. degree with Distinction in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Ilorin, where his academic excellence and research potential became evident early on. He has since distinguished himself as a researcher of global repute in the area of materials and environmental chemistry with special interest on advanced materials for water remediation and biomass waste valorization



Mr. Emmanuel said he is open to international collaborations and research grants aimed at promoting green technologies, circular economy solutions, and sustainable environmental development.
