Who Is Jessica Hyatt?

An American Chess Prodigy
Jessica Hyatt, born in 2005 in Brooklyn, New York, is celebrated as the highest-rated African American female chess player in history .

Rapid Rise in Chess

In 2019, she won the New York State Scholastic Championship .

By 2023, she claimed the KCF All-Girls Nationals Championship and became a five-time member of the USA National Youth Team .

She holds victories over Grandmasters Michael Rohde (2021) and Abhimanyu Mishra (2022) .

In 2024, at just 19 years old, Hyatt earned the National Master title, becoming the youngest African American woman to achieve this .
