​Mmesoma Okonkwo is a remarkable 17-year-old Nigerian student from Anambra State who has achieved global recognition for her academic excellence. She emerged as the worldwide overall best in English in the 2023 Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examination, earning the prestigious British Council Outstanding Cambridge Learner’s Award. ​


Academic Excellence

Mmesoma was the Head Girl of the 2023 graduating class at Chrisland High School, Victoria Garden City (VGC), Lagos. In addition to her top score in English, she achieved A1 grades in nine subjects, including Mathematics, Business Studies, Information and Communication Technology, Economics, and Biology. ​


Study Approach and Aspirations

Her success is attributed to diligent preparation, particularly through practicing past questions and understanding exam patterns. Mmesoma draws inspiration from her parents and plans to pursue a degree in Business Administration, aiming to leverage opportunities in the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence and business management. ​
