While Africa may not yet be known for producing vehicles at the scale of countries like Germany or Japan, several African car manufacturers are gaining attention. Here are some notable car production efforts from across the continent:

1. Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) – Nigeria

  • Founded: 2007
  • Location: Umudim, Nnewi, Nigeria
  • Overview: Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) is Africa’s first and largest indigenous car manufacturer. The company produces a range of vehicles, including sedans, SUVs, and commercial vehicles. Innoson cars are widely used in Nigeria and several other African countries.
