Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome, widely known as Ali Baba, is a pioneering Nigerian stand-up comedian, actor, and master of ceremonies. Born on June 24, 1965, in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria, he hails from the royal family of Agbarha Otor in Ughelli North Local Government Area. As the first son among several children, Ali Baba spent his initial eight years in Warri, where his father, a retired soldier, served in Lagos.

Career Milestones

In Lagos, Ali Baba quickly established himself as a leading comedian, performing at corporate and non-corporate events and serving as the master of ceremonies at numerous functions across Nigeria. His innovative approach and dedication to the craft have earned him the title of the “Godfather” of Nigerian comedy.

Personal Life

Ali Baba is married to Mary Akpobome, the Chief Operating Officer of Imperium Capital Partners. The couple tied the knot in 2006 and, in April 2024, welcomed triplet sons, a joyous event Ali Baba announced on his Instagram page.
