Africa’s Data Center Landscape
Africa’s data center sector is expanding but remains limited. The Africa Existing & Upcoming Data Center database identifies 121 existing and 49 upcoming facilities across 13 countries.
Nearly 46% of these are concentrated in South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, and Egypt, highlighting regional disparities. Overall, the continent accounts for less than 1% of global data center capacity, and only 0.5% of the international cloud market is served locally, signaling significant growth potential.
