The name “Sam Cooke” is associated with two notable individuals:

Sam Cooke (Singer):

Born on January 22, 1931, in Clarksdale, Mississippi, Sam Cooke was a pioneering American singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur. Often hailed as the “King of Soul,” Cooke’s smooth vocal style and emotive delivery significantly influenced the genre. He began his musical journey in gospel, notably with the Soul Stirrers, before transitioning to secular music. His notable hits include “You Send Me,” “A Change Is Gonna Come,” and “Wonderful World.” Beyond his musical contributions, Cooke was an advocate for civil rights, using his platform to support the movement. Tragically, his life was cut short when he was shot and killed on December 11, 1964, in Los Angeles, California.

Sam Cooke (Model):

Born on November 19, 1985, in Manchester, England, Sam Cooke is a British glamour model renowned for her appearances as a Page 3 girl in The Sun newspaper. She has featured in various British “lads’ mags” such as FHM, Maxim, and Loaded. In 2006, Cooke won The Sun’s annual Page 3 Idol competition. She is married to English footballer Chris Smalling, and the couple has been together for over 14 years.
