Fisayo Dele-Bashiru is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Lazio in Italy’s Serie A, on loan from Turkish club Hatayspor. Born on February 6, 2001, in Hamburg, Germany, he holds Nigerian nationality and represents the Nigeria national team.

Early Life and Youth Career:

Dele-Bashiru began his football journey in England, joining Manchester City’s youth academy in 2009. He developed his skills there until 2020.

Professional Career:

  • Sheffield Wednesday (2020–2023): In 2020, he signed with Sheffield Wednesday, making 65 appearances and scoring 5 goals over three seasons.
  • Hatayspor (2023–Present): Dele-Bashiru transferred to Hatayspor in 2023, where he made 36 appearances and netted 8 goals.
  • Lazio Loan (2024–Present): In 2024, he joined Lazio on loan, wearing the iconic number 7 jersey. As of January 2025, he has played 13 matches and scored 2 goals for the Italian club.

International Career:

Eligible to represent Nigeria, Germany, and England, Dele-Bashiru chose to play for the Nigeria national team. He received his first call-up in October 2023 and scored in his second appearance during a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against South Africa.

Personal Life:

Fisayo’s older brother, Tom Dele-Bashiru, is also a professional footballer. The siblings share Nigerian heritage and have both been involved with Nigeria’s national teams.
