Basketball legend Michael Jordan has expanded his philanthropic efforts by opening his fourth free health clinic in North Carolina. On February 19, 2025, the latest Michael Jordan Family Medical Clinic was inaugurated at 416 N. 30th St. in Wilmington, Jordan’s hometown. This 7,300-square-foot facility features 12 patient rooms and offers primary care services on weekdays. Patients also benefit from the assistance of community health workers who connect them to essential local resources.

Developed in partnership with Novant Health, these clinics aim to eliminate financial and logistical barriers that prevent many individuals from accessing medical care. Jordan’s commitment to healthcare began in 2019 with the opening of two clinics in Charlotte. The success of these facilities led him to donate $10 million in 2024 to further expand the initiative. In less than a year, the first Wilmington clinic served nearly 1,800 patients, many of whom had never received primary care before.

Reflecting on this endeavor, Jordan emphasized the importance of accessible healthcare, stating, “Everyone is worthy of access to quality health care, no matter where you live or if you have insurance.” His ongoing investment in North Carolina’s medical infrastructure underscores his dedication to bridging healthcare gaps and ensuring that quality services are available to all, regardless of income or insurance status.

These clinics represent a significant step toward improving health outcomes in underserved communities, providing vital services to those who need them most
