Angola shares its borders with four countries in southern and central Africa. Here’s a breakdown of its international boundaries:


Countries That Border Angola

  1. Namibia
    • Southern border
    • Separated primarily by the Cunene River and the Okavango River
    • Shared border length: 1,376 km
  2. Zambia
    • Eastern border
    • Shared border length: 1,110 km
    • The boundary runs mostly along rivers and remote forested regions.
  3. Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)
    • Northern and northeastern border
    • Shared border length: 2,646 km
    • This is Angola’s longest land border.
  4. Cabinda Province (Angola’s exclave) borders the DRC and the Republic of the Congo:
    • Cabinda is separated from mainland Angola by a strip of DRC territory.
