St Lucia’s Prime Minister Pierre sets general election for December 1

Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip J. Pierre, on Sunday evening, during an address to the nation, kept his promise that general election would be on a Monday – announced the much-anticipated date for general election, the SLP (Saint Lucia Labour Party) gathered a massive crowd of supporters at The People’s University – the Castries market steps, for the much-anticipated announcement and political meeting.

Governor-General of Saint Lucia Sir Errol Charles, acting on the advice of Prime Minister Pierre, in accordance with the Constitution of Saint Lucia, will dissolve parliament .

Prime Minister Pierre, speaking at a Town Hall meeting in New York, November 7, said: “When the election is called, we are going to have one of the largest margins.”
