Big news for Nigerian aviation — Enugu Air has secured approval to operate the Lagos–London Gatwick route.
The Enugu State-owned airline will operate the route through a strategic partnership, with Omni-Blu Aviation appointed as the designated operator.
According to the airline, the approval is a major milestone in its expansion plans. The new route is expected to strengthen air connectivity between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, while opening up fresh opportunities for passenger travel, trade, and tourism.
The development also aligns with the aviation vision of Enugu State Governor, Dr Peter Mbah, who has been pushing to position Enugu State as an emerging hub for international connectivity, investment, tourism, and economic growth.
If all goes to plan, travellers will soon have another strong Nigerian option on one of the busiest and most competitive international routes — Lagos to London.
This is more than just a new route. It is Enugu Air announcing itself on the international stage.
