INSIDE THE RECLAIMING FEMININE HEALTH WORKSHOP

For years, women have been taught to wait for symptoms to worsen, for test results, wait for prescriptions, and wait for doctors to explain what is going on in our own bodies.

My name is Khadijah Adunife, a holistic health healer and the founder of The Healthvocate NGO. I help women understand their bodies, reclaim their health and vitality.

I healed myself of PCOS after years of being told to “manage it” instead of understanding it. That journey exposed a wider problem: the fact that many women are navigating chronic reproductive health Related conditions, without proper education or support. What we call “normal” suffering is often a lack of information, lifestyle alignment, and body literacy.

That is why Reclaiming Feminine Health exists.

In many communities, especially in Nigeria, women’s health conversations start and end at hospitals. Symptoms are treated in isolation, while root causes are ignored.
The result is a cycle of chronic symptoms, repeated medication, little understanding and no long Term healing.

Reclaiming Feminine Health is here to change that and to interrupt that cycle of dysfunction.
The goal is not to reject medicine, but to stop outsourcing our own healing power as women.
Women deserve to understand their bodies before something goes wrong, not after.

The Reclaiming Feminine Health physical interactive workshop was held on Saturday, 24th January 2026, at the CIBN Bankers Hall, FMSS, located inside Kwara State University, Nigeria. The workshop was organized as part of The Healthvocate NGO’s ongoing contribution and commitment to women’s grassroots health education and empowerment.

During the session, participants explored:

How the female body works beyond textbook definitions

The connection between lifestyle, hormones, and chronic symptoms

Why conditions like PCOS, irregular cycles, fatigue, and metabolic issues are increasing

Simple, realistic holistic practices that can be applied daily

How to listen to bodily signals instead of suppressing them

The session was intentionally interactive. Questions were encouraged. Personal experiences were shared. Many attendees expressed that it was the first time health information felt relatable rather than intimidating. This was not just a lecture but more of a conversation.

WHAT COMES NEXT

This workshop marks the beginning of a much larger vision. Our vision is to visit universities across Nigeria and beyond, meeting women where they already are, and equipping them with the knowledge needed to reclaim their health early, not decades later.

We started with Kwara State University, but we do not plan to stop there. Universities are where habits form, stress peaks, cycles become irregular, and lifelong health patterns begin. Reaching women at this stage is IMPORTANT

Through campus-based workshops, conversations, and advocacy, The Healthvocate aims to normalize body literacy, preventive health practices, and holistic care among young women long before illness becomes their identity.

ALIGNING WITH GLOBAL HEALTH GOALS

The mission of The Healthvocate NGO aligns directly with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly:

SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being: By promoting preventive care, holistic health education, and informed lifestyle choices.
SDG 4: Quality Education: By providing accessible, practical health education outside traditional classrooms.
SDG 5: Gender Equality: By empowering women with knowledge about their own bodies and health decisions.

CALL TO ACTION

The conversation around women’s health must move beyond emergency care and silent suffering because there is still more work to be done. If you are an institution, organization, advocate, or individual interested in: Supporting campus based health education, partnering on holistic wellness initiatives, expanding access to preventive health conversations, etc.

The Healthvocate NGO welcomes collaboration.
To follow the work, learn more, or connect directly, reach out through our official platforms and stay engaged with upcoming programs and workshops.

This movement is growing.
And it is only just beginning.
