Crossland Communication Nigeria Limited, a Nigerian indigenous telecom company, has announced its plans to deploy and operate Public Mobile Radio Telephony services across Nigeria. The company, founded by a Nigerian in the diaspora, has obtained a license from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to provide these servies.
The company is partnering with Integrated Homeland Solution Network, a subsidiary of Redtone Group, and exclusive West Africa regional partner of Hycomm and Hytera Communications, to bring its services to Nigeria. This partnership is expected to attract significant foreign direct investment (FDI) and technical know-how to Nigeria, creating thousands of direct job opportunities.
According to the company, Nigeria has reached a critical juncture in its history, with the dilapidated state of key infrastructures and inadequacy of Public Safety Operating System posing significant challenges. The country is still working on its inter-operability communication and information sharing system between security agencies, including the Nigeria Police, Military taskforces, and Emergency Response Agencies.
Crossland Communication’s solution aims to address this gap by providing a Next Generation Mission Critical Public Safety Communication Technology, known as SMART SAFE CITY SOLUTION. This technology encompasses key communication network solutions in emergency situation management, enabling quick response to emergencies and minimizing national disasters such as violent crimes, armed robbery, loss of lives and properties, and terrorism.
The absence of an adequate inter-operability emergency response management system has exposed the vulnerability of the nation in terms of national security. Therefore, it is imperative that public safety should be a top priority on the list of the Federal Government’s agenda.
Crossland Communication’s SMART SAFE CITY SOLUTION is designed to strengthen the communications capabilities of public safety and security agencies, improving the level of preparedness to protect lives and properties in communities across the country. This solution is critical to national development, as social and economic activities can only thrive in a safe and secure environment.
With Nigeria becoming an attractive destination for foreign investors, it is essential to address the growing concern over violence, insecurity, and unemployment. Crossland Communication’s initiative is a step in the right direction, and it is expected to contribute significantly to the country’s economic growth and development.
